Who we are
Oakstone is an independent referral service, and we don't do tree work ourselves. We run this site from outside the United States, so your details may be handled there. You can reach us at [email protected].
What we collect
- What you type into the request form: the service you need, how soon, your name, ZIP code, phone number and any notes.
- A record of your consent: the wording you agreed to and the time you sent the request.
- Ad or link details: if you came from an ad or a tracked link, the campaign name and click ID in that link.
- Technical details: your IP address and browser information, which Cloudflare handles to run this site and check for spam.
We don't ask for your email address, home address or any payment details.
How we use it
- To pass your request to one local tree company.
- To answer questions from you about your request.
- To check that requests are genuine and limit spam.
- To see which ads and pages bring in requests.
We don't add you to a marketing list, and we don't sell your details to data brokers or lead lists.
Who receives your details
| Who | Why |
|---|---|
| One local tree company | Receives your request so it can call or text you about this job. It's an independent business that handles your details under its own policies, and it may pay us for the referral. |
| Cloudflare | Hosts this site, runs the code that checks each request, provides the Turnstile spam check, counts site visits, and forwards email sent to our address. |
| Formspree | Receives and stores each request, then emails it to our inbox. |
| Google (Gmail) | Provides the email inbox where requests arrive, and the account we use to send them on. |
| Authorities | Only if the law requires it. |
Calls and texts
The tree company may call or text the number you gave us about your request. Message and data rates may apply. If you no longer want to hear from them, tell the company directly, and let us know so we can stop any further sharing.
Spam protection
We use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that requests come from real people, which involves Cloudflare checking your browser and connection. We also check which country a request comes from, because this service only covers the Chattanooga area.
To limit fake and repeat requests, we keep a scrambled form of your IP address and phone number for up to two days. We can't read the original details from that scrambled form.
Cookies and measurement
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits to this site. Cloudflare Turnstile and Web Analytics may use cookies or similar browser storage where they need it to work. We don't use Google Analytics or advertising trackers on this site at the moment, and we'll update this page before we do.
How long we keep it
We keep requests for 12 months so we can handle questions and billing, and then delete them. A tree company that received your request keeps its own copy under its own policies.
How we protect it
Requests travel over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). The address of our form service and our security keys are kept on the server, out of the public pages. No website can promise perfect security, so please leave sensitive information out of the notes box.
Your choices
Email [email protected] to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We can't delete a copy a tree company already received, but we'll tell you which company has your request.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your details, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
